For this trip I packed too much crap. too much for 2 nights and and 2 days.

Summer dresses (2) (note to self not to repeat:nautical blue and hippie swirls)
Jeans and top for the drive
sandals
Black platforms

I brought triple that! Lol

Anyways, gotta go back to the beach! Muah.

Change of the LR

I got sick of the LR before also...I just made some changes to make it look cleaner and more sleek.

We bought the cabinet that you see from the Macy's home store, it's a bar! I love that thing so much and it is so beautiful...

I got rid of the ugly outdated pics from before and another piece of the couch.

Added some white curtains and tada!

Now I am in the hunt of some new tables to replace these big bulky ones. But for now...here it is.

Changes to my Dinning Room

I was a little tired of the over bearing pic behind the table...and it needed a change.

Here it is, it has taken me about 6 months to complete, they are all frames from of course Ikea and a different artsy pic in each one. The pictures are of places that we have either gone to or just the grass in the backyard!

And the picture in the opposite end is also done as a DIY and you can see that right here...

Change in Guest Bedroom: DIY

Here's a cool little change that could be done any day easily and on a budget.

The guest bedroom in my house holds multiple purposes...besides making friends a comfy room to pass out drunk =)

But since I live in FL and had no real defined since of style when we bought our home.. it ended up oh so tropical.

I am now so over it. I have pretty much made simple changes to my whole house since I had so many freaking palm trees everywhere! Even my office at work was palm trees and beaches!

I decided to revamp this room using as little cash as possible, so here is how thing went:

I decided to change the comforter and use that as my slate, I found this cool little print at IKEA for $12. Score!

Now that was my first experience with a duvet...I was definitely scared when I started to tuck in one of my old conforters inside of it. I than used the clothing pins to hold it together. Woo...that was so much easier.

After that the palm trees on the walls had to come down, and since I am a firm believer in re-using old items I remembered that I had 4 canvas from my old apartment that was also a DIY project. Back than I painted each of them different browns, leaving one white.

I searched Ikea for a cool fabric I can cover them with and than saw the fabric used for those sliding little curtains that they have. Only $10!

The rest was awesome! With nail gun and scissors, I guess everything is easy.

I added a couple of nail heads on the headboard for a polished look, it came out pretty cute too.

Here's a sneak peak=) check again for the final pics! oh, and btw-the total for all this was $22. not bad huh?

Landscaping: The During!

Hi guys,

so as I promised here is the during stages of our beautiful new landscaping =)

I just loved the whole process, and since our great friend Steve runs a landscaping...it turned out to be that much more enjoyable.

Caution: I do not know the names of the plants, I picked plants that would not overpower the house again like the previous landscaping and easy to maintain.

There were several trips in the HOT Florida sun to numerous nurseries to find the best plants. Here's a few.

Next we wanted texture in the landscaping, something to create interest.

So we ended up using tons and tons of rocks...

Here's a few. We ended up with this massive rock, and 2 different types of rocks as fillers in between plants. Again, low maintenance and texture. Besides, mulch sucks. Yeah it is cheaper...But I would end up month after month adding new mulch to keep things looking clean, but as you saw from the before pics..it turned into a red jungle.

I hand it to my fried Steve...this was a lot lot lot of work! Look at the following pics. The amount of trash alone needed a truck. Not to mention a truck to bring all the rock I ever wanted;)

New Landscaping

and today I went to a bootcamp class with some girlfriends...lets see if I can make it again in the a.m. I have another session at 6 a.m.

Goal: a lean mean kick ass machine

I did it... I worked out with a trainer this morning...i am so weak! I have committed to 2 days a week with him and the rest is on me! I will be sharing this journey with you guys. It will be a long one...but this is a lifestyle change for me. Stay tuned.

I know I know I know....as usual I am a little late on my blog posting...hehehe!

But here I go with another attempt to update you all on my little world.

For those of you that do not know my man asked me to be his girl on 01/01/00...so this was our 10 year anni of him being my man and me being his girl =)

This anni means a lot to me because our love story goes as follows:

* Boy meets girl while girl working in store 11/10/99.

* Girl says to friend at store " that guy is sooo cute, I am going to marry that guy!"
friend than calls guy over and girl freaks out by running in back room...(really, I really did run to the back)

* Friend gets boys phone number for girl, girl never calls.

* Boy comes in on later date and asks girl "why no phone call?" girl responds.."because girls don't call boys" That's riiiight!
He laughs and calls girl that night.

* For the next couple of days they fell in love and didn't even know it...

* One conversation was about all the silly things kids used to do, including passing those notes that would ask:
Would you be my girl? Please check one, YES NO MAYBE

* Boy and girl went on first date on x-mas eve at the Cheesecake factory!

* Then on new years eve boy and girl went on date at weird family friends house, but boy gives girl a note...asking
"Would you be my girl? Please check one, YES NO MAYBE"

That was how we started this crazy life together...

After that we dated for 3 years and one day just decided to elope...we actually got in the car. I was wearing a white dress from Express and went to a Drive Thru Chapel, we splurged though and went inside. He rented me a vail and had 5 friends attend.

It was very Brit meets her first husband...geez!

The family was devastated that we did it that way. And Honestly...I am not to sure till this day why. But we have made through it all in the last 10 years..

Which brings me to this:

(I have been wanting this ring forever! it is a yellow canary diamond, with infinity band. The pics don't do it justice. Center stone at 1.5 C, total ring with band 3.5 C.)

We went to spend new years at Key Largo with his parents and some of his friends and when it came time to give our anni presents to each other (mine being a card ...with poem, a Hershey's bar and a $25 Macy's card...lol, we are broke believe it or not!)

He re-proposed!!! It was so amazing, in our hearts we were doing things the right way this time.

He handed me this

from Z Gallerie and inside there was a fortune with this message:

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

I went camping, and for those of you that know me that is a 'BIIIIIIIIG Deal'. I am not the outdoorsy athletic type at all and I hate mosquitos more than a bad case of UTI.

My Burlap Curtains

I really really hate my vertical blinds....really really really hate them. Did I mention that I hate them??? Well, my solution was to to add some curtains and hide the vertical blinds behind them. The project was kinda easy....with the exception of hemming them. Hemming was time consuming a bit because I could not decide if the should drag or not. So here are the pics of my prosess.

I have not posted in so long and I feel bad, however I have checked your blogs daily even while sitting on the can (TMI I know...hehe).

But I just wanted to tell you that I am still here...my life has changed a bit. I work for a big bank and in the last month I got shifted to one of the biggest branches in my market and that has been killer for me. We are going through tons of changes and in the midst of all of it...I am the one that people go to for advice and comfort. It is a lot at times...but I feel lucky to have a great opportunity to prove myself.

My professional life is taking up 70% of my time and at times I feel bad for my poor hubster, Bambi and Mimi...But I've always believed "work hard now and relax when your old...."

In the meantime, Husbster's birthday passed and so did mine...I will post pics =), and we managed to get this last week off, but made the financially responsible thing for once and stayed local.

Anyhow...missed ya!

The hubster surprised this weekend with a get away to Naples (only about 1 1/2 hour ride)...

I love Naples and he knew that.... We had a great weekend. If you guys ever go there, you should stay here.

I love to just sit here and day dream of one day getting on a plane and going there for a couple of days...this place was just awesome!

And another great thing about Grand Cayman is that it has less than 1% crime rate...

Ja was cool. We did Duns River Falls, bobslead rides, and some sight seeing. The place was beautiful. Bob Marley music was everywhere!

Ok, the trip was aw-so-me!

I tried out my photographer skills and spent a lot of quality time with hubster...which was priceless!

We ended up in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Isla Roatan (Honduras).

I was as usual amazed at how people live and how much they work...that always happens to me, I get consummed with worry for them.. Which is none of my business. But I would see the housekeeping team up at 7 and and still up at 10 at night, none stop...and in between that I had my room cleaned 3 times! I would find myself telling them to go to bed, to not work so hard...I know, weird!

Anyhow, I have over 200 pics, so what I will do is post them in categories so you can follow the trip and it is not one long post.

My friends B-day is today on Cinco De Mayo, and since he has been kinda depressed lately I wanted to get him a friend!

So I went to the pet store, picked this little guy and his new home, put it all together and handed it over to his new parent...lol.

In the honor of cinco de mayo we said to name him Margarita...I know, his a boy, but who cares...my friend said...no lets name his house Margaritaville...and I said, well than his name should be Jimmy Buffet!

So there you are: Meet Jimmy Buffet!

This weekend husbter worked until 1 and I said that when he came home we needed to take the convertible out in this beautiful Florida weather and just chill out...that is all I wanted, just to get the hell away from the stresses of life.

I thought what beter place to go than....KEY WEST!

Husbster said: "lets do it, lets sleep at my parents tonight and leave early in the a.m.", Key West is 4 hours away, but his parents have a place in Key Largo (1 hr away).

Well, 3 hrs later we got to his parents =( it was the MS Bike Weekend, this wasnt good!

We chilled with the family and went to bed at 10, the next day we knew it was a bad idea...so we left to come home. We called a friend and were on our way to Deerfield Beach...it was so beautiful!

And 4 margaritas later it was a great day. =)

So the bottom line is that you really dont have to go far as long as you have tequila and sun!

blogger, I know!

Sorry my friends...but Geez sometimes life just hapens and sneaks up on you like cold pizza.

But Lets do a recap. This is how my incredibly boring week went...

Last sunday I am proud to say that hubster and I worked a March Of Dimes event to collect $ for the babies. But it was killer. 7-4 near the beach, so our Florida sun had no mercy on us.

Monday I worked my bones off till 6, straight to class to get ready for my final when my teacher does not show up! I turn into panic, come back home and start to work on final essay for English class...I am writting a research paper on Meth, let me tell you. I can educate you on it without a problem. Just ask =)

Tuesday-Wed, I started to get ready for a not so nice medical procedure....let just say that I lost about 4 pounds in a day and a half and had things in less flattering areas of my body! Ouch...
No eating for 32 hours! Just water. So I was so so out of it. Oh, and I still had to head over to school to take that math final...eeek!

First meal....Antony's coal Fire Pizza.

Thusday and friday I just worked till night time, my favorite boss left and that just meant so much more work for mua!
But thank God my branch is kicking booty!

Yesterday I had my garage sale! I am proud to say that I made $120 and got rid of a lot of stuff, ahem...crap!
And you guys know that I have been on a major decluttering rampage.

Last night we went to the Hard Rock for my leaving boss' party...damm, we got home at 3! That is crazy for me and as I sit here and write to you my friends, it is with much regret that I should not have had 3 crans and vodka, 1 shot of tequila, beer, and no food! lol. That all equals a major hangover.

So you see, that was my week in a nutshel.

I promise I'll be better.

I will be posting up pics of the MOD event, Garage sale, and my drunk escapades..lol.
